Aura farming autumn guide
September 2025
We keep putting out fall guides in hopes the weather will catch up, but if you’re in NYC right now, you know September heat waves are very real. Still, in the spirit of manifestation, here’s our men’s autumn outfit guide.
Men’s trends are all over the map, think ’90s prep revival, gorp core that refuses to die, and everything in between. But one thing we refuse to budge on? The wide-leg pant. Yes, some of you are still clinging to your straight legs and, god forbid, a skinny. Consider this your gentle push to step outside your comfort zone. this season. Embrace the baggy look with every aesthetic, like please.
We’re starting with The Checkmate, because plaid deserves better than just another flannel. Then there’s The Peanut Butter Whiskey, a classic fall layering look with a slight upgrade. Next up, The On The Green is for those mourning the end of golf season. And preppy is back and cooler than ever with The ‘90s Baby. We can’t seem to let go of our gorp core obsession with The Trail Blazer. Finally, we have The Fuzzy Wuzzy for those of you who refuse to give up comfort but let’s do it in a cool way, yeah? Whatever you are trying to aura farm this season, we got you.
The Checkmate
No longer is plaid owned by the lumberjack aesthetic. The cool kids are claiming it and we are so into it. So instead of reaching for that same old flannel year after year, try a zip-up plaid jacket. Layer it over a simple grey hoodie and pair it with baggy black jeans—no need to overcomplicate when the jacket is clearly the star. Ground the look with a black workwear-style boot, then finish it off with a deconstructed beige hat and a silver chain bracelet. Just like that, you’ve got an outfit ready for your weekend day-drinking plans.

The peanut butter whiskey
Not the flashy type, but still appreciate the power of looking put together? This outfit is for you. It strikes the perfect balance between classic and trendy—think staple pieces updated with modern silhouettes and fabrics. If this sounds like you, one piece worth investing in this season is a good wool collared jacket. Pair it with a long-sleeve tee and some baggy jeans (because we know you’re not allergic to trying new things). Add a fun baseball hat, sunglasses, and dad sneakers for a look that’s stylish yet understated. Now, we’re not saying this outfit is for corporate types who finally have a Saturday off… but we’re not not saying that.

The On The green
Okay, we admit this isn’t exactly a golf look, but at least it’ll feel like you’re carrying a piece of the course with you into colder weather. Chartreuse green is the perfect entry point into color, it’s not too loud, but a great way to break free from the black-and-white palette. Start with a crewneck green sweater layered over a simple white tee, then pair it with dark grey trousers. And if you ever found yourself saying, “wow i wish I didn’t have to choose between loafers and sneakers,” well, we have the perfect solution with the New Balance sneaker loafers. Add in a simple silver pendant necklace and a black nylon tote back for a little more visual interest. You will feel like a hole in one in this look (too much lol?)

The ’90s Baby
We’re fully romanticizing that ’90s hip-hop preppy vibe this fall. It’s still preppy, just a little more oversized and a little less buttoned-up. Start with an oversized rugby polo as the focal point, then add beige cargo pants and white low-rise sneakers for some contrast. Accessorize with a contrast-stitch baseball hat and a gold signet ring, and don’t forget a nylon cross-strap bag, you know, in case you didn’t have enough pocket real estate with the cargos. Put it all together and you’ve got a visually pleasing throwback look that’ll impress even the fashion girls.

The Trail blazer
We know we throw a lot of shade at gorp core, but let’s be honest, it almost always looks cool. If this is your aesthetic, we get it. But why not push yourself with some brighter colors this season? Bright orange makes a statement, and if you’re bold enough to wear head-to-toe nylon, you can definitely pull it off. Pair an orange jacket with black balloon pants and a white pocket-detail tee, if we’re doing techwear, we’re leaning in. Finish it off with black rectangle sunglasses, a black crossbody bag, and fresh sportstyle sneakers (because you can never have too many). The result? A look built for spotty weather and maybe even a compliment or two.

The fuzzy wuzzy
First off, apologies for the name,we couldn’t resist. But there’s no denying this look is peak comfort, perfect for the days you’re too hungover to function or just too tired to deal with anything beyond elastic waistbands and fabrics that feel almost like a blanket. A good thermal can genuinely make you a more pleasant person to be around, so start there. Pair it with classic grey sweatpants and a white tee for an outfit that’s basically upgraded sleepwear. Top it off with a baseball hat, comfy sneakers, and glasses, because if you can’t commit to real pants, you’re certainly not putting in contacts. The result: an outfit that feels like floating on a cloud.
